Der junge Mike Vallely, der bei einem Contest in Virginia Beach von Lance entdeckt wurde, wurde gebeten, sich dem Powell-Peralta-Team anzuschließen, und wurde schnell als erstklassiger Street-Skater berühmt. Nachdem er die Roach-Grafik zunächst abgelehnt hatte, arbeitete Vallely eng mit VCJ an einem Elefantenthema. Mike und sein Elefantendeck waren beide sehr beliebt.
